A popular format is for a fun belly dance lesson to take place at a middle eastern restaurant before a meal, or at a dance studio - for the full Fame! experience - or at your home. It will usually last 60 to 90 minutes & will include basic belly dance moves plus a choreography you can perform together later.
Our instructors can provide belly dance costume pieces & jangly coin belts so you can all get into the spirit of the occasion, & the lesson can be accompanied by an Arabic percussionist for added drama & excitement. The choice is endless, & we will be happy to accommodate special requests!

Two fantastic workshops will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 1st May, starting with Nabila's signature open level Baladi workshop followed (after a short break) by a hot drum solo choreography!
Workshop 1: BALADI, THE SOUL OF EGYPT

Learn to interpret & express this rich, playful, sensual & dynamic urban Egyptian dance music. Take your dancing to the next level with the Queen of Baladi!

International master teacher Nabila travels the world performing & teaching at events & festivals but hasn't been to the UK for 6 years. London Belly Dance is privileged to host her return. "Nabila's career as a professional oriental dancer & instructor spans 22 years. With Sabin Zaida, she published international English language magazine 'Belly Divas' for 5 years. In 1998, they started one of Germany's biggest oriental dance festivals, Bazar Oriental, in Berlin where Nabila is based. Now in its fourteenth year, it includes the 'Miss Bellydance Europe' competition. Nabila is also in demand as a guest star dancer & master teacher at international oriental dance festivals. These include, amongst many others, Cairo's Ahlan Wa Sahlan where, in 2006, she was the first German teacher. This year Nabila teaches at Cairo's Nile Group festival. She has also performed on national & international TV productions, dance shows & concerts with Lebanese singers Assi Hellani & George Rassi. She has performed & taught in Egypt, Russia, Latvia, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Switzerland, Austria and Finland. |
